Since 1985, the Women's Research Program
(WRP) has organized and conducted seminars, workshops and conferences as well
as developed exchange information and research on women's studies.
The WRP continues to promote academic research through an academic
concentration in Women and Gender Studies and provides a wealth of feminist
research methods to the practitioners and students.
The objectives are to promote and research on the various issues of women and
gender in Taiwan; to advocate and conduct the research of interdisciplinary
subjects with feminist perspectives; to extend women and gender equity
education for the public and also cultivate women and gender studies
intellectuals; to empower women by the mutual collaboration among feminist
scholars, grassroots women, and the policy makers; to develop collaborative
research and exchange information with Women's Studies programs and scholars
abroad.
Amongst others they publish a quarterly bulletin of Women and Gender Studies
and the annual Journal of Women and Gender Studies.
