Since 1985, the Women's Research Program (WRP) has organized and conducted seminars, workshops and conferences as well as developed exchange information and research on women's studies.

The WRP continues to promote academic research through an academic concentration in Women and Gender Studies and provides a wealth of feminist research methods to the practitioners and students.
The objectives are to promote and research on the various issues of women and gender in Taiwan; to advocate and conduct the research of interdisciplinary subjects with feminist perspectives; to extend women and gender equity education for the public and also cultivate women and gender studies intellectuals; to empower women by the mutual collaboration among feminist scholars, grassroots women, and the policy makers; to develop collaborative research and exchange information with Women's Studies programs and scholars abroad.
Amongst others they publish a quarterly bulletin of Women and Gender Studies and the annual Journal of Women and Gender Studies.
