The Documentation Unit for Women Studies (DUWS) works under the umbrella of Ahfad University for Women and was established in January 1989.

Activities of DUWS are: documenting women's life (in particular the pioneer ones); suggesting research topics on women issues to the fifth year students at Ahfad University for Women to conduct them as a partial fulfillment of the award of B.A.; publishing AINisf AIWaad Magazine and the series of Women and Development book; conducting seminars, workshops and conferences on women issues and on related activities; coordinating the establishment of a Sudanese Women Museum and cooperating with other Women Studies units in and outside the Ahfad University for Women.
