The Women's and Gender Studies Programme of the University of the Western Cape co-ordinates interdisciplinary teaching and research and promotes women's and gender studies as an area of academic interest on campus.
The Programme offers undergraduate students the opportunity to engage with contemporary debates and issues through its B.A. in Women's and Gender Studies.
Students from as far afield as America and Tanzania have joined local students in the B.A. Honours and M.Phil degree programme. Taking advantage of the flexibility built into the Programme, and with the help of Women's and Gender studies staff, postgraduate students are empowered to construct a course of study to suit their individual interests.
