The Gender Center for Sustainable Development (GCSD) is a national autonomous, non-profit, and non-governmental organization founded in 1995 as the Women's Information and Research Center (WIRC).
The main goals of the Gender Center for Sustainable Development are to promote gender equality and support human development by mainstreaming gender issues into social, economic, and political planning and programming in Mongolia. It strives to facilitate the establishment of a just, democratic, and healthy society in partnership with all people and institutions of good will. GCSD work involves policy analysis and dialogue on key development issues, action research, advocacy training, information dissemination and networking, promotion of information communication technology, business incubation for social progress, technology transfer, and human resource development and capacity building.

Major activities include research and data-base processing; information dissemination; reference center networking; and publishing a newsletter, quarterly brochure, annual bulletin, and maintaining an Internet site on "Women in Development".
