Japan (M) Women's Studies Association Japan The Women's Studies Association of Japan was established in 1978 in order to promote women's studies in Japan for the purpose of eliminating all forms of sex discrimination through the exchange of information on research, education, practice, and actions. Center activities include bi-annual conventions, the publication of the Journal of the Women's Studies Association of Japan and newsletters, and the organization of study/research groups and various projects. The main theme of the most recent conference was feminism and political power. It has a membership of about 600, including academics within diverse disciplines as well as women and men from all other professions, and activists. |
