It gives me great pleasure to invite you to the 9th International Interdisciplinary Congress on Women (WW05) which will be held at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea from June 19 to 24,2005. The theme of this year's Congress is "Embracing the Earth:East-West/North-South."
With this theme we hope to provoke discussion on how women's lives are interwoven, and also separated, by the increasing economic disparity between North and South, and by the contesting values of East and West.

As the first meeting ever to be held in Asia, WW05 will give participants a better look at the cultural backdrop, social movements, identities and policies that are specific to the Asian context. We hope that this focus will bring about a richer understanding, paving the road for integration of Eastern and Western perspectives.

We sincerely hope you will join us in this journey to embrace differences among ourselves. Let us unite in our common yearnings to build a better world for ourselves and future generations.
