& ICT (Information Communication Technology) |
This section will shed light on efforts to achieve an information
society based on gender equality as outlined by the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights. It will also address various
interpretations, the positive and negative aspects of rapidly
changing IT and the information age. Key issues include: policies
to remedy regional and gender digital divide, capturing digital
opportunities, appropriate ICT, gender sensitive ICT training
and policies, a gender information index, gender and ICT mainstream,
networking and gender empowerment, cyber community, e-life,
e-culture, human rights in ICT, and e-business. These will
be discussed at the theoretical and practical levels and the
aim is to examine ways in which women can actively participate
in society in the information age.
